Sussex Kings of Harmony win ‘Most Entertaining’

During lockdown, our national organisation – the British Association of Barbershop Singers – were unable to arrange our usual annual competitions and championships, so this year it was held on YouTube with submissions from choruses and quartets all over the country. The Sussex Kings of Harmony submitted their ‘Is This the way to Amarillo’ virtual recording and we are delighted to announce

WE WON THE MOST ENTERTAINING CATEGORY!

As regular followers will know, in the months that passed during lockdown the Sussex Kings of Harmony and Sussex A Cappella made a number of unmasked performances which are now on our YouTube channel.

Sussex A Cappella appoints a new Chorus Director

Sussex A Cappella are thrilled to announce the appointment of Penny Homer as their new Chorus Director. Penny will be working with Sussex Harmonisers club Music Director, Mark Grindall, in helping the ladies of Sussex A Cappella to continue their development in the a cappella world. Penny has over 20 years experience since graduating from the University of Nottingham, working with choruses of many configurations and experience.
 

Sing2019 – Sussex Kings of Harmony win trophy in national chorus competition

Our men’s chorus aims to compete each year in the national Barbershop Chorus Competition which was last held in 2019 in Bournemouth. Our effort over the previous 12 months paid off as were awarded the ‘Most Improved Chorus’ trophy for 2019, being placed 11th nationally.

The Barbershop Competitions for 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic but we plan to compete in the 2022 championships so we will be working hard after lockdown.
